Lamar University Advisory

Lamar University classes will be held as scheduled beginning Wednesday, August 30.  Business operations will resume on Tuesday, August 29 and faculty and staff should report to work at that time to prepare for the first day of classes.

Tropical Storm Harvey is predicted to continue to impact Beaumont and Jefferson County with heavy rains through the next few days.  Monitoring of the situation will continue.  Any updates to the planned campus opening will be communicated through the university’s website, social media network and Connect-Ed.

Students, faculty and staff are urged to check local highway and weather conditions to ensure personal safety while traveling to campus.
